BikeNoble Chain Cleaning Guide
Chain cleaning is an essential part of bicycle maintenance. This short guide will show you how to clean your bike chain in the most effective way.
- BikeNoble™ Chain Cleaner
- washing-up liquid / degreaser
- lubricating oil
- dry rag
Place the bottom part of a cleaner under the chain, make sure the chain fully sits on the brushes and add the upper part of the tool.
Through the hole on the top, fill the cleaner with a solvent of your choice. We highly recommend using a degreaser as it will properly cut though the grime and oil, however, normal washing-up liquids will do the job as well.
Start pedaling for about a minute or until the chain looks clean. Remove the cleaner and empty the solvent. If you have a cleaning brush or casette kit, it is a good idea to clean other components of the drivetrain as well.
Now, refill the cleaner with soapy water and repeat the same proccess again. This will rinse the chain and remove any leftover dirt.
Wipe off the chain with a clean rag and leave it to dry for a while. Once it is dry lubricate each chain link. Finally, use a clean rag to get rid of an excess lube. This will prevent dirt from collecting on the chain again.
